Bottom pain produced by the saddle

Everyone who has ridden a bike at some time will have experienced pain in their bottom.
As a result we have maybe changed the posture or pedalled standing up, but this has not helped. This pain can occur hours after our ride or even the following day.

The  pain can be of two types, firstly a superficial pain as a result of  friction and sweat and secondly an internal pain from supporting all the weight of your body.

It's  clear that our body is wise and the best solution is to accustom it to this effort and what better way than to ride a long time.

But if the pain persists, there are other things to take into account.

In the case of superficial irritations: Use good quality cycling shorts, always clean and never wear the same shorts two days in a row, completely dry as damp shorts can irritate the skin, you mustn't wear underwear and for longer routes than normal we recommend you use moisturising cream.

For the internal pain: Take into account the size of your saddle. In a specialized shop they can advise us to the size in relation to the distance between our isquia ( bones that form the bottom part of the pelvis). The saddle position should always be horizontal and the height must be correct to avoid incorrect pedalling or leaning over the handlebars.

Telescopic-Seatpost

It is very common that after trying any improvement in our bike we "get used to it quickly," and we do not know how to ride without improvement. A clear example of this is the telescopic seatpost.

Who would have told us a few years ago that while pedalling  we could change the saddle height? The comfort and security that  can give one of these parts is amazing especially if we like to practice mountain bike on  rough terrain.

Normally before starting a  downhill with big steps we stop and get off the saddle, and then put it in pedalling position. Who stops for a single obstacle? A simple vertical drop is enough to get hurt.

That " telescopic seatpost” is heavy, but the choice is very simple, weight, or safety. They are expensive, but have you thought how much it can cost to go ” flying” over the handlebars?

Our opinion is that the worst part of using a telescopic seatpost is the dependency that you create for  comfort and safety.

26", 27'5", 29". They manufacture and you decide...

It is no mere mathematical question, because not decided on the best or worst, as it is subject to various factores.Actualy the market is betting on those of 29 and 27.5 inches It's mean they are better than those of 26 inches? Can it translate a message that smalest of the house and are intended to exileI want to think not.

The biker must decide according to the expectations he have of his bike, that is, there are important factors to us by either decant diameter as well:

1 - HOW WE USE THE BIKE?

2 - WHAT ROUTES USUALY DO?

3 - THE PATHS FOR WHICH USUALLY WE RIDE.

4-  THE CONCEPT OF OUR BIKE IDEAL

5- DO WE CONSIDER THE AESTHETIC?

6 - HEIGHT IS A DECISIVE FACTOR OR NOT? ...

Personally I think one should try the bike with different inches, and as the sensations it receives and decide. Not because the manufacturers bet on some models, we must abide by it, as everyone has a different reality and as it will be better one way or another.
In fact, we can name different champions, and each uses a different one.

- ABSALAN: 26 "
- KHULHAVY, Hermida: 29 "
- And now NINO SHURTER championship in South Africa's 27.5 ".

What means this, that some are right and others are wrong? You have the last word, they made you decide.
